What Is the EB-5 Data Telling Us on Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan – Three of the Industry’s Largest Markets?

Every year, IIUSA selects the destinations of our Global Banquet Series strategically based on what the EB-5 investor market statistics are telling us which is why Korea, Vietnam and Taiwan were no brainers. You can explore key insights from each market below:

 

IIUSA estimated that the combined I-526 filings from these three markets (Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan) accounted for 37% of the market shares of the total I-526 filings among all countries other than China in FY2018. In addition, the growth of I-526 filings from Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan was respectively 82%, 53%, and 48% between FY2017 and FY2018.

In addition, investors from Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan contributed a total of $658 million in EB-5 capital investment in FY2018. The charts below illustrate the opportunities of raising EB-5 funding from Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan since FY2009:

 

Qualified investors from these three markets saw an approval rate of their I-526 petition over 92% in FY2017, well above the average I-526 approval rates among the investors from other largest EB-5 markets. The average approval rate of Korean I-526 petitioners was 97%, the highest approval rate among the ten-biggest investor markets in FY2017.
