On Friday, July 30 the Senate voted to confirm Ur Jaddou to lead U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) by a 47-34 vote. Ms. Jaddou takes the helm of the agency at a critical time for the EB-5 Regional Center Program and U.S. immigration as a whole as the immigration looks to a post-COVID rebound.
IIUSA looks forward to enagaging with Ms. Jaddou on a host of ongoing issues not the least of which are processing times, backlogs and agency transparency. Jaddou previously acknowledged the need to improve USCIS efficincies and operations across the board and we hope to see changes implemented soon.
Ms. Jaddou previously served as Chief Counsel to USCIS under the Obama administration from July 2014 to January 2017. She previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Legislative Affairs at the Department of State.
