On November 19, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) hosted a stakeholder engagement as part of USCIS’ continued efforts to enhance dialogue between the agency and the EB-5 stakeholder community.
On the first part of the engagement USCIS officials provided agency and program updates including what steps the agency has taken to address growing backlog. While IPO mentioned that it had considered public comments on the Immigrant Investor Program Modernizations Regulations (NPRM) and that they are working towards finalizing the NPRM they did not provide any concert update on when they expect EB-5 regulations to be processed. The call also provided attendees with an opportunity to recieve clarity of redeployment requirements however, IPO was not able to answer questions posed by participants on the matter and promised that they are looking into the matter.
As always, we would like to thank USCIS officials for the opportunity to engage with the agency directly. It ensures that the indsutry remains well informed and provides the agency with an opportunity to address and consider stakeholder comments and concerns.
