The Association to Invest in the USA (IIUSA), the national not-for-profit industry trade association for the EB-5 Regional Center Program (the “Program”), recently released its events and publications schedule for the first half of 2014. The announced schedule is highlighted by monthly webinars, the March publication of IIUSA’s quarterly magazine (the Regional Center Business Journal) and an industry-wide advocacy-based conference in Washington, D.C. in May designed to bring EB-5 professionals and federal government representatives together for advanced education, business development and networking opportunities.
“IIUSA’s events and publications provide EB-5 professionals with all of the tools to succeed in the marketplace,” said IIUSA Executive Director Peter D. Joseph. “As such, we are extremely excited to host the EB-5 industry’s leading advocacy conference in Washington DC in May which will feature an agenda centered on grassroots advocacy, advanced education, and business development opportunities.”From May 7-9, IIUSA will lead the EB-5 Regional Center industry in its descent upon Washington D.C. for its 7th annual EB-5 Regional Economic Development Advocacy Conference. The multi-day event, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Capitol Hill, will feature expert speakers from across the EB-5 industry and the federal government and will address trending topics and the future of the EB-5 Regional Center Program. Following the success of IIUSA’s 2013 Fall Webinar Series, IIUSA recently announced it will be hosting monthly webinars in 2014, with the first being held on January 30th and covering all aspects of EB-5 industry advocacy and government affairs. Other webinar topics include securities laws, due diligence, economic modeling, targeted employment areas (TEAs), leveraging of other economic development tools, adjudication trends and more. In the near future, IIUSA also plans to release its 2012 EB-5 Regional Center Program Economic Impact Report. According to initial results, in 2012 the industry supported 42,000+ American jobs, added $3.39+ billion in GDP and generated $712+ million in federal/state/local tax revenue, up from 33,000+ jobs, $2.6 billion in GDP, and $564+ million over the previous two years combined.
