On Thursday, June 27, 2019, the Office of Management & Budget (OMB) posted that it concluded its review of the Obama-era regulations, EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program Modernization, initially introduced in January 2017.
While we know the content of the proposed rule as written in 2017, it is unclear what changes, if any, USCIS and OMB have made during their review. In Spring 2017, IIUSA, with help from its Public Policy Committee, submitted substantial comments on the proposed rules. At this time, we do not know if industry comments have been incorporated in any way. We also do not know if this indicates that the final rules are coming down the pike.
IIUSA will continue to monitor developments and provide additional information as it becomes available.
