Last week the JournalTimes.com published two articles describing the successes of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce an IIUSA Regional Center Member Author Michael Burke highlights MMAC’s role in attracting investors and creating jobs in his articles entitled, “Spokesman Says Milwaukee 7 Efforts Pay Off in Jobs, Payroll” and “M7 Taps New Foreign Investment Source.”

Both articles focus on MMAC President Tim Sheehy’s speech to businessman and community leaders of the seven Wisconsin counties that make up the Association. Burke states that Sheehy’s group has raised, “approximately $20 million of foreign money” for investment in “southeastern Wisconsin” most of the money has gone, “into projects including manufacturing and hotels.”

The EB-5 Regional Center Program allows foreign investors to invest in projects without having to oversee day-to-day activities. Regional Centers work to ensure qualifications for permanent residency, such as job creation, are met. The Program must be made permanent in order to compete for foreign investment with similar Visa programs around the globe.
