Key I-829 Highlights
Filings
USCIS received 1,171 I-829 petitions in Q3 FY2019 (between April and June 2019), a growth of 27% from the last quarter. The number of I-829 filings in Q3 FY2019 reached its highest level since the inception of the EB-5 Program
Adjudications
USCIS completed the adjudication of 613 I829 cases in Q3 FY2019, up by 115% from the last quarter.
Approval Rate
The average approval rate of an I-829 petition was 94% in Q3 FY2019. While the average approval rate of I-526 petitions saw a significant drop in Q3 FY2019, the approval rate of I-829 petitions remained above 90% during the same time period.
Backlog
As of the end of Q3 FY2019 (June 30th, 2019), nearly 9,300 I-829 cases were still pending at USCIS, up by 5% from March 31st, 2019 and by 19% from one year ago.
