Earlier this week, IIUSA sent a letter to U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) addressing several programmatic issues of the EB-5 Regional Center industry. The letter was the result of several months of hard work by IIUSA’s Public Policy Committee to communicate to USCIS many problems that face the industry, but are sometimes left in the shadows of the larger picture of the Program involving program extension, visa capacity and overall program reform.
Among others, the letter was sent to Lee Francis Cissna, Director of USCIS, in hopes of opening a dialogue between the agency and the industry to address these pressing issues that effect business and economic development across the country.
Some of the issues addressed in the letter include:
- Bridge financing;
- Adjudication backlogs and processing times;
- Denials for third part guarantees;
- USCIS site visits;
- Redeployment;
- And more.

Special Thank you to the IIUSA Public Policy Committee for their contribution on this policy letter.
