The recent IIUSA EB-5 Event Passport Series trip to East Asia was a resounding success, with stops in Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Each city featured its own unique aspects, yet across all four locations, we were thrilled to see strong participation from the leading migration agencies, underscoring the value of our educational programming and the strength of our partnerships in each market.
In Seoul, we kicked off the series with engaging sessions focused on the latest regulatory updates and best practices for EB-5 investments. Attendees were eager to connect, setting the tone for a collaborative environment. In Taipei, the event emphasized the nuances of recent developments under the Reform and Integrity Act and its potential positive impacts on EB-5 processing times, project oversight, and transparency.
Our stops in China marked the association’s return to the EB-5 industry’s largest market. Our Shanghai event brought together a full-room of professionals and offered sessions on latest case filing and processing trends, risk mitigation and project due diligence, and updates on current advocacy efforts to secure EB-5 visas and assure a long-term if not a permanent program authorization. In Guangzhou, the series continued the conversations with a high-energy event focused on investor protections including increased transparency, the “good faith investor” clause, and regional center audits. Additionally, the roundtable discussions at our events in China provided a new platform for IIUSA local members and leading migration professionals to share their insights on the latest developments in this largest EB-5 market.
IIUSA Executive Director, Aaron Grau, noted “IIUSA is very grateful to its partners in Asia that help make the IIUSA Passport Series events such successes. Turnout in each city, Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai, and Guangzhou was all fantastic. It was great to see so many migration professionals and their clients so interested in the latest updates on everything from IIUSA’s Washington, DC advocacy to its data analysis on visa numbers and application processes. We look forward to going back next year!”
Throughout the series, IIUSA provided a comprehensive educational platform, which, combined with opportunities for networking and business development, created an ideal setting for stakeholders to connect and collaborate. The engagements across East Asia once again highlighted the importance of IIUSA’s role in delivering relevant, high-quality content and facilitating meaningful connections within the EB-5 industry.
