On February 22, IIUSA kicked off its 2020 Global Banquet Series with a successful event in Ahmedabad, India. Hosted in partnership with the Global Investment Immigration Summit the event was attended by over 300 investors, local service providers and project representatives from around the world and provided an excellent platform for business development and in-depth investment immigration discussions.

As the EB-5 industry trade representative, IIUSA was honored to work in conjunction with our members on the “EB-5 Experts” panel during the event. With EB-5 regulations taking effect late last year the topic was on many participants minds and our panelists covered the changes enacted through the regulations including increased investment amounts and integrity measures. The panel also focused on the important work underway on Capitol Hill by industry stakeholder, IIUSA included, to achieve a long-term reform and reauthorization for the EB-5 Program.
Emerging topics in U.S. immigration were also covered including the growing prominence of the E2 visa program as well as strategies potential investors may employ to transition from an E2 to EB-5 visa. Of particular focus was the recently announced Reserve Bank of India (RBI) rules limiting the total amount of money Indian’s may transfer out of the country in a given year.

IIUSA would like to extend a special thank you to all of our EB-5 sponsors and speakers whose support ensured that the event was a great success including American Regional Center for Entrepreneurs, InvestAmerica, Fakhoury Global Immigration, FirstPathway Partners, Mona Shah and Associates Global and Pine State Regional Center.
