Last week, IIUSA hosted a Government Affairs & IIUSA PAC Update webinar, providing critical updates to the association’s advocacy strategies and success. The recording can be access here. The webinar was sponsored by the IIUSA Political Action Committee (PAC) and included three important speakers. IIUSA government affairs consultant, George McElwee (Commonwealth Strategic Partners) and IIUSA PAC Board President, Bob Kraft (FirstPathway Partners) provided attendees with the inside scoop of IIUSA’s activity and success on Capitol Hill in 2023 as well as strategies for 2024. Additionally, as all attendees were IIUSA PAC members, they heard in-depth details about the IIUSA PAC’s inaugural year and what it has planned for 2024 and beyond.

IIUSA was excited to include John Mark Kolb, Deputy Chief of Staff to Rep. Maria Salazar (R-27-FL) on the webinar as well. Mr. Kolb provided attendees with exclusive updates on The Dignity Act. The bill aims to tackle comprehensive immigration reform and is co-sponsored by Rep. Salazar and has bipartisan support. Most importantly for EB-5, the bill would eliminate derivatives and only count the principal applicants towards the visa cap.

The recording of this webinar is available to IIUSA PAC members only. PAC members can access the recording, free of charge, through the PAC’s IIUSA Member Portal page. If you are a PAC member and do not have access to this page, please email ashley.casey@iiusa.org.

The IIUSA PAC is making great strides in just one year of existence and it will prove to be a crucial tool in the years ahead, especially leading up to reauthorization in 2027. If you are not yet a member of the IIUSA PAC, you can read more about it here. If you have questions about the PAC, email aaron.grau@iiusa.org or ashley.casey@iiusa.org. Please note that to be a part of the IIUSA PAC, according to Federal Election Commission rules, you must be an IIUSA member in good standing and a U.S. citizen.

A special thank you is due to our speakers on last week’s webinar – IIUSA appreciates your time and effort to update and educated our membership on these important association activities and industry-impacting legislative endeavors.
