Through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), IIUSA recently obtained the statistics on I-924 applications for fiscal years (FY) 2014 and 2015. The data shows U.S. Citizneship and Immigration Services (USCIS) received a total of 803 I-924 petitions in FY2015 (551 in the fourth quarter alone), a 25% increase compared to the number of I-924 petitions received in FY2014.
In addition, a total number of 262 I-924 petitions were approved by USCIS in FY2015, a 11% decline from FY2014; while the number of denials was not disclosed in the FOIA response. By the end of FY2015, 804 I-924 petitions were still pending to be adjudicated at USCIS.
