IIUSA Congressional Perspectives Webinar with House Judiciary Committee Staffers
Yesterday, July 9, IIUSA hosted our latest EB-5 Advocacy Webinar Series virtual event. The webinar, Congressional Perspectives for EB-5 Reauthorization and Reform in 2020 was moderated by IIUSA Executive Director who led a conversation with the Majority and Minority Chief Counsels of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration & Citizenship, David Shahoulian and Andrea Loving. They were also joined by CEO of Cleveland International Fund and IIUSA Secretary-Treasurer, Stephen Strnisha who provided insight from a Regional Center and EB-5 practitioner point of view.
The webinar gave industry stakeholders an opportunity to hear directly from the Congressional staffers with whom IIUSA has worked so closely with to not only educate policy makers about what EB-5 is and its benefits, but also to achieve long-term reauthorization and reform of the EB-5 Regional Center Program through the legislative process.
The conversation was particularly helpful for those EB-5 stakeholders who are curious about the state of discussions between the industry and Capitol Hill, the status of EB-5 being reauthorized before the September 30th sunset date, the outlook for legislative action for program reform and long-term reauthorization, and how these points fit into the broader process of demands and goals for federal lawmakers.
