As IIUSA continues to expand its global engagement, international members play an important role in advancing transparency, education, and collaboration across the global EB-5 ecosystem. Recently, IIUSA’s Director of Events, McKenzie Penton, spoke with Newland USA, a new international member based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, about the firm’s work in Southeast Asia and its perspective on the evolving U.S. immigration landscape.
Founded in 2023, Newland USA supports Vietnamese investors pursuing U.S. immigration pathways with a strong focus on transparency, compliance, and long-term planning. In the conversation below, the Newland USA team shares why IIUSA membership matters, how investor expectations in Vietnam are changing, and what they see ahead for the EB-5 program.
Below is the full interview with Newland USA, where they offer a closer look at their mission, their outlook on the Vietnamese market, and the value they see in engaging with IIUSA’s global network and upcoming events.
About Newland USA and Its Regional Focus
Q: Can you tell us about your organization and the work you do in Vietnam and the broader region?
A: Newland USA was established on October 25, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with the mission of “Fulfilling dreams – Enriching lives” (Vietnamese: An cư vững bền – Trọn đời thịnh vượng). Our goal is to provide Vietnamese clients with high-quality, transparent, and well-structured U.S. immigration solutions.
We currently focus on three strategic U.S. immigration pathways: the EB-5 program, the EB-3 Skilled Workers program, and the EB-2 NIW pathway for individuals with exceptional abilities. Newland USA was founded by Mr. Chau Tam Luan (Shia Chau), our Founder and CEO, who has more than 15 years of experience in the immigration industry.
While our core market is Vietnam, we work closely with international partners, legal advisors, and project developers to ensure global standards and best practices in everything we do.
Engaging with IIUSA and the Global EB-5 Community
Q: What motivated your team to join IIUSA as an international member?
A: IIUSA represents credibility, professionalism, and leadership within the global EB-5 ecosystem. As a firm committed to long-term development and ethical practices, we see IIUSA membership as an important step in aligning ourselves with internationally recognized standards.
Joining IIUSA allows us to stay closely connected to policy updates, market insights, and industry best practices, while also contributing a Southeast Asian perspective to the broader EB-5 dialogue.
Investor Trends in Vietnam and the Road Ahead
Q: From your perspective, how is investor interest in U.S. immigration programs evolving in Vietnam? What is your outlook for 2026?
A: Investor interest in U.S. immigration programs in Vietnam continues to grow steadily, driven by long-term priorities such as education for children, asset diversification, and global mobility. Clients today are more informed and cautious, placing greater emphasis on project transparency, legal compliance, and long-term security.
Looking ahead to 2026, we expect demand to remain strong, particularly for structured, well-governed EB-5 projects and clearly defined employment-based pathways. Firms that prioritize transparency and investor education will be best positioned to succeed.
“Firms that prioritize transparency and investor education will be best positioned to succeed.”
The Value of IIUSA Events and International Engagement
Q: What value do you see in engaging with IIUSA’s events and global network, particularly as an international stakeholder?
A: IIUSA’s events provide a unique platform for meaningful dialogue between regional stakeholders, policymakers, developers, and service providers. For international firms like ours, this engagement helps bridge local market realities with global industry trends.
The IIUSA network also fosters collaboration, trust, and shared learning, which are essential for the sustainable growth of the EB-5 program worldwide.
Looking Ahead to Ho Chi Minh City
Q: You are participating as a sponsor of IIUSA’s upcoming event in Ho Chi Minh City this March. What excites you most about this event?
A: We are especially excited that the event is being held in Ho Chi Minh City, a key hub for U.S. immigration interest in Southeast Asia. The event creates an opportunity for direct, transparent conversations between industry experts and local stakeholders.
As a sponsor, we are proud to support IIUSA’s efforts to bring accurate information, policy insights, and global perspectives to the Vietnamese market.
Q: What do you hope attendees take away from your participation in the HCMC event?
A: We hope attendees gain clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of U.S. immigration pathways, particularly the importance of choosing compliant, well-structured solutions.
From Newland USA, we want participants to see our commitment to long-term client success, responsible advisory practices, and alignment with global industry standards.
Long-Term Collaboration with IIUSA
Q: Looking ahead, how do you see your organization engaging with IIUSA and its members in the future?
A: We view IIUSA as a long-term partner in our growth journey. Beyond events and sponsorships, we look forward to continued knowledge sharing, collaboration with fellow members, and active participation in industry discussions.
Our aim is to contribute positively to the EB-5 community while helping strengthen connections between Vietnam and the global EB-5 market.
