On Monday, September 9, 2019, the Immigrant Investor Program Office (IPO) of U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) held an EB-5 Stakeholder Listening Session. A recording of this listening session is now available in IIUSA’s Education Library.
The listening session was intended to summarize and give more clarity to the impending regulatory changes to the EB-5 Regional Center Program set to take effect on November 21, 2019. Stakeholders were given an opportunity to submit questions and comments ahead of the engagement in an effort for IPO to address some of them during the teleconference. Stakeholders were also able to call in during the engagement to provide feedback and ask questions; however, IPO was not answering any questions asked in real time.
As part of its new charter, IIUSA’s Public Policy Committee is committed to improving and increasing industry engagement with IPO and USCIS and has plans to follow up on several of the points from the teleconference.
