Earlier this week, IIUSA staff represented the EB-5 industry at the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) 2016 EB-5 Investors Summit in Washington, DC as well as the 2016 CCIM Institute Thrive Conference in Atlanta, GA.
At the AILA EB-5 Forum, Executive Director Peter D. Joseph presented on a panel titled Hot Topics, Legislative Update which addressed the issues confronting the EB-5 Regional Center Program extension and congressional reform efforts as well as new U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) developments and trends. Mr. Joseph was joined on the panel by IIUSA members Carolyn Lee (Miller Mayer, LLP) and Enrique Gonzalez (Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP). Also joining the discussion were George Fischman, Chief Majority Counsel, House Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security and Gary M. Merson, Democratic Chief Counsel, House Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security.
The CCIM Thrive Conference brought together top commercial real estate professionals from around the country for 2+ days of networking and engaging panel discussions on topics ranging from big data, current climate of commercial real estate and the future of brokerage. IIUSA staff was proud to represent the EB-5 Program at the conference and to educate real estate professional on Program and its importance for the commercial real estate industry.
Over the next few months IIUSA will continue to deliver its message of Program integrity, self-regulation and consensus building at industry conferences around the globe.
