On Thursday, February 18, 2021, Congressional Democrats unveiled the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 which is a comprehensive immigration reform bill with the backing of President Biden. The bill was introduced by Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Representative Linda Sánchez (D-Calif) with the intent of “provide an earned path to citizenship, to address the
root causes of migration and responsibly manage the southern border, and to reform the immigrant visa system and for other purposes”
The IIUSA government affairs team is currently analyzing the bill and will provide a detailed analysis of its potential impacts on the EB-5 Program shortly. IUSA continues to work towards standalone EB-5 reauthorization and will also be sure to engage with the Bill drafters to ensure EB-5 industry concerns are addressed.
