Earlier today, IIUSA submitted a letter to House and Senate leadership in support of the bipartisan “EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2020”, calling for its inclusion in the forthcoming FY 2021 omnibus appropriations bill.
The association’s Board of Directors voted unanimously in support of the bipartisan measure earlier this week, noting, in particular, its new and strengthened integrity measures. The integrity provisions include protections for good-faith investors and for lawful EB-5 Regional Centers from any bad actors seeking to defraud investors. Critically, the bill also provides a five-year reauthorization to stabilize the industry, creating a strong political platform from which to advocate for more visas.
What We Need You to Do!
We are asking all IIUSA members and supporters to send our recent letter to any member of Congress or congressional staff they with whom they have a relationship. This is critically important AND MUST HAPPEN TODAY as we look to ensure EB-5s long term reauthorization is achieved. Time is of the essence!
- Send the letter to Congressional connections by 3:00 PM EST today (12/11)
- Highlight the importance of the Grassley/Leahy language being included in the omnibus
- ASK THEM TO SHARE THE MESSAGE WITH SENATOR SCHUMER AND CONGRESSMAN NADLER
- Tell us who you sent it to ([email protected])
We believe that by securing a long-term reauthorization, developed in good faith with Senate leadership, we will be able to negotiate additional industry improvements (such as more visa and backlog reduction) in the year ahead from a much stronger position.
Thank you in advance for your support of this important initiative.
