On January 19, 2021, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will hold a hearing to consider Alejandro Mayorkas as President-elect Joe Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security. Mr. Mayorkas was previously the deputy DHS secretary in the Obama administration.
The Department of Homeland Security, among many other things, has direct oversight of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) through which the EB-5 Program is administered.
