Topic: In the fifth installment of IIUSA’s 2014 (monthly) Webinar Series, three experienced economists will take a closer look at the economic modeling that is the basis for EB-5 Regional Center petition adjudication.
According to USCIS policy, economic impact models used for to meet the requirements of the EB-5 Regional Center Program must be “reproducible” based on “reason” assumptions backed with “verifiable detail.” There are several input/output models that can be used to fulfill this requirement, such as: IMPLAN, RIMS II, I-RIMS, REMI, and REDYN. Our expert panelists will review these models, explore their similarities and differences, and – most importantly – proper application based on sound inputs.EB-5 investors, Regional Centers, and project rely on the appropriate use of these models, so this is a webinar you don’t want to miss!

Finance: Combining EB-5 Capital with Other Economic Development Tools
June 26, 2014
This webinar will be an exploration of practical impact that limited visa availability would have for Regional Centers, projects developers, attorneys, and investors alike.
SEC’s involvement in the EB-5 Program has been increasing but is still relatively new. In this webinar, we will be exploring all prior enforcement actions and review any new enforcement actions that occur over the first half of 2014. We will also discuss the ways in which increased federal oversight of the Program may have serious ramifications on how EB-5 projects are marketed to investors.
In 2014, the volume of I-526 petitions (used by an entrepreneur who wishes to immigrate to the United States) and I-829 petitions (the removal of conditions of the investor’s immigration status) has continued to increase. As such, this webinar will highlight these growth trends as well as the analysis of large data sets of I-526 and I-829 RFEs/Denials that inform us to what issues are coming up in the adjudication of these petitions. Additionally, this webinar will assess recent processing trends and any issues pertaining to a backlog of petitions.
