DHS Nominee Mayorkas to Recieve Committee Vote on Jan. 26

The Biden administration pick to run the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, is set to receive a committee vote. The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will meet to vote on January 26, 2021. 

Earlier this week, held a hearing to consider Mr. Mayorkas’ nomination. Mr. Mayorkas was previously the deputy DHS secretary in the Obama administration and DHS, among many other things, has direct oversight of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) through which the EB-5 Program is administered.
