KEY DATA BRIEFING:
I-829 Filings: 867 EB-5 investors filed their I-829 petition in Q4, a year-over-year growth of 86% from last year. In FY2019, USCIS received a total of 3,756 I-829 petitions, up by 14% from FY2018. The growth of I-829 filings indicated that more and more EB-5 investors were able to move forward to their final step of obtaining their legal permanent residency in the U.S. thanks to the fact that their qualified EB-5 investment has created jobs for American communities.
I-829 Adjudications: USCIS adjudicated 1,733 I-829 cases in FY2019 with only 361 I-829 adjudications in Q4. The total volume of I-829 adjudications in FY2019 declined by 36% from FY2018.
I-829 Approval Rate: The average approval rate of I-829 petitions in Q4 was 97%, an increase of 3% from Q3. Overall, I-829 approval rates remained above 90% throughout FY2019.
I-829 Backlog: As of September 30, 2019, there were 9,799 I-829 petitions pending in USCIS, up by 28% year over year.
