Earlier this month, IIUSA was proud to co-host an EB-5 panel and cocktail reception alongside our members at the 4th Annual Investment Migration Forum In Geneva, Switzerland. Hosted by the Investment Migration Council the event was a great opportunity for attendees to learn more about residency and citizenship by investment programs from around the world- EB-5 included.
This year’s event theme was “Advancing Residency and Citizenship by Investment” and a key focus of the event was discussing strategies to overcome countries inward policies against immigration and challenges faced by countries (and individuals) in promoting global migration by investment.
IIUSA was honored to be invited to take part in this important event where some of the association’s members we able to highlight the current challenges facing the EB-5 regional center program, but also some of the opportunities. IIUSA President Robert Kraft moderated an expert discussion during the event on the substantial benefits of the EB-5 program for the U.S. economy as well as for the investors who pursue this visa and U.S. permanent residency. In addition, the panel showcased IIUSA’s latest educational tool “How EB-5 Builds America” which provided attendees with a better understanding of the Program as well as its valuable economic development contributions.
Joining Mr. Kraft on the panel were Edward Beshara, IMCM, Managing Partner, Beshara Global Migration Law Firm; Darrell Sanders, Managing Director, Investment Programs, American Life, Inc; Irina Rostova, IMCM, Founding Partner, Rostova Westerman Law Group, P.A.; Gonzalo Lopez Jordan, Managing Partner, American Regional Center Group (ARCG) and Cletus M. Weber, Founder and Partner, Peng & Weber PLLC.
Thanks to IIUSA’s participation and our supporting co-sponsors the event attendees now have a much more in-depth understanding of the EB-5 Program as well as some of the key considerations around laws and regulations surrounding the Program.
IIUSA and the IMC first established a partnership back in 2016 with the goal of ensuring members of both associations stay well informed of all of the latest investment immigration trends. Both associations have a strong emphasis on promoting best practices and facilitating business development and educational opportunities for their collective memberships.
