IIUSA to Host EB-5 Advocacy Conference in Washington this April

Annual industry event marks Association’s ten-year anniversary

Invest in the USA (IIUSA), the national not-for-profit industry trade association for the EB-5 Regional Center Program (the “Program”), will hold its 8th Annual EB-5 Regional Economic Development Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. on April 12-14. The conference will mark IIUSA’s 10th anniversary as an organization, capping a decade of advocacy on behalf of the EB-5 Program and its stakeholders.

“The EB-5 Advocacy Conference provides international investment and economic development professionals with a unique opportunity – over two days of business development, grassroots advocacy and advanced education on one of the fastest-growing investment tools in the U.S.,” said IIUSA Executive Director Peter Joseph. “Industry stakeholders will have the opportunity to hear directly from the federal government on the future of the EB-5 Program including issues critical to maintaining the Program’s strength and integrity.”

In conjunction with the EB-5 Advocacy Conference, IIUSA will hold its Annual Membership Meeting on April 13th which will feature important Association business including addresses from IIUSA officers, elections for directorship positions, committee reports (Association Building, Banking, Best Practices, Compliance, Editorial, Investor Markets, Membership, Public Policy, Public Relations, Technology) and more.

Attendees will have access to a number panels on EB-5 specific issues including legislative, regulatory and government oversight; updates on USCIS policies, adjudication and processing trends; emerging investor markets; the current cultural, economic and political trends driving EB-5 demand in China; visa retrogression; EB-5’s economic impact in the U.S. and steps stakeholders can take to conduct proper due diligence.

Attendance at the 2014 conference was IIUSA’s largest in event history, with more than 450 EB-5 stakeholders from over a dozen countries present for a sold out event. As indicated by its name, the Advocacy Conference presents the best opportunity for stakeholders to engage with regulators and lawmakers in support of immediate reauthorization the Program. Over 500 leaders and stakeholders in the EB-5 industry have already signed IIUSA’s EB-5 is Working letter to the 114th Congress in support of reauthorization.

IIUSA’s members account for more than 95 percent of capital flowing through the EB-5 program and have supported successful economic development projects around the country. IIUSA’s Regional Center Members are listed on the Interactive Regional Center Map, which lists each Regional Center’s location, approval date, states served, approved geography and industries, website and more. This map is further searchable by which members have I-526 (Immigrant Petition) and I-829 (Removal of Conditions) approvals.
