On September 13th, IIUSA President, Mr. David Andersson, will testify before the Washington State Legislative Committee on Economic Development and International Relations On September 13th, IIUSA President, Mr. David Andersson, will testify before the Washington State Legislative Committee on Economic Development and International Relations during a session hearing covering the topic of “EB-5 – The Federal Government’s Immigrant Investor Program in Washington State”.  During his presentation, the President will detail the establishment, development, and current functioning of his Regional Center, Whatcom Opportunities Regional Center, as well as convey its associated economic and job-creating impact within his region and throughout the State of Washington.  IIUSA views this as a valuable opportunity to illustrate, to an important audience, the positive socioeconomic development created by Whatcom Opportunities Regional Center, as well as a prime avenue to advocate for the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program as a whole.

The President’s testimony will include how EB-5 may best be implemented for the public good as a powerful tool for catalyzing job creation and progressive economic development in the 21st century. His testimony will also include IIUSA’s experience with our Regional Center members in other states who use different economic models.  In this particular regard, Mr. Andersson’s testimony serves as a valuable opportunity for the Committee to discover what other states are encountering with the EB-5 Program from the direct vantage point of the industry’s most prominent and comprehensive trade association.  During the session, the Committee members will be open to any policy change recommendations the President may provide on how the legislature can improve efforts to further develop the EB-5 Program in the State.  IIUSA supports our President in his efforts and will update our members with the outcome of the meeting as well as any further developments.
