IIUSA to Participate in Two EB-5 Industry Events Next Week

AILA 2016 EB-5 Investors Summit
October 24-25, 2016| Washington, DC 

AILANext week, October 24-25, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) will be hostings its 2016 EB-5 Investors Summit at the Renaissance Washington in downtown Washington, D.C. The theme of this years event is Representing EB-5 Investors & Regional Centers in a Time of Upheaval. The event is for both entry-level and experienced EB-5 lawyers and others in the EB-5 industry and will cover issues with in-depth panels that provide an opportunity to learn from all the critical parts of an EB-5 team, including immigration lawyers, securities and business lawyers, economists, developers, registered brokers and advisors, and regional center principals, as well as government officials, in a framework that provides practical information for attorneys representing individual investors and/or regional centers. The program emphasizes planning, compliance, due diligence, enforcement issues, and ethical considerations, so lawyers understand what is permissible and practical – and what is not – in the complex EB-5 investor world.

IIUSA Executive Director, Peter D. Joseph, will present on a panel titled Hot Topics, Legislative Update which will focus on program extension and congressional reform, new agency developments and trends and prospects and implications of the potential sunset of the EB-5 Program. Mr. Joseph will be joined on the panel by IIUSA members Carolyn Lee (Miller Mayer, LLP) and Enrique Gonzalez (Fragomen).
