Dear IIUSA Members,

In just three weeks, IIUSA’s 9th Annual General Meeting (“AGM”), will take place in Washington, D.C (April 20th). In advance, we ask your participation to help determine which candidates for Board of Directors and Treasury/Secretary will be listed on the ballot.

The online poll will close TODAY March 31st at 11pm EST. If you have not submitted your vote please do so now! You can cast your vote here.

What happens next?

On April 1st, the top three finishers in the Board primary and the top two finishers for the Secretary/Treasurer primary will be added to the ballot, to be voted on at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday April 20th in Washington, D.C.

Nominees for the position of Director who did not finish in the top 3 of the online phase will still be able to secure a spot on the ballot by soliciting emails of support from IIUSA members who are registered for the IIUSA EB-5 Advocacy Conference. Nominees will reach out directly with the e-mail address to which you should send your support. The cutoff of the “caucus phase” will be Tuesday April 5th at 11:00pm EST.

The top three candidates with the most emails of support will be added to the ballot along with the three candidates added through the online phase.

This new approach benefits the organization in the following ways:

1. Allows the focus of the members to be on the speeches of those who have the ability to win a board seat;

2. Empowers those who cannot be at the annual meeting to have influence on the leadership of IIUSA as they will participate in the online phase of the Primary; and

3. Gets the word out about the conference as candidates who are not in the top three from the online poll but wish to be on the ballot will need to ask a lot of people if they are going to the conference.

Please note that your vote on the Primary election poll does not constitute a vote in the general election. You must be a member in good standing and in attendance at the membership meeting to cast your organization’s ballot.

We have discouraged mass email blasts by our nominees to ensure a fair playing field. Should the campaign practices of any nominee cause you concern, please share your concerns with an IIUSA staff member (info@iiusa.org).

I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks; please don’t hesitate to contact a members of the Nominations Committee with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Souders
