Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) Hosts Event and Releases Report on EB-5 Investment for States and Localities

On September 17, the Bipartisan Policy Center hosted an event and released a report titled, “EB-5 Program: Successes, Challenges and Opportunities for States and Localities”. The panel included Governor Jim Douglas (Former Governor of Vermont, second from left), Governor Mike Beebe (Former Governor of Arkansas, Second from right) and George Olsen (right) Co-Founder & Managing Principal, New York City Regional Center.

 

On Thursday September 17th the Bipartisan Policy Center, a non-profit organization that promotes dialogue on and analysis of multiple issues, hosted a panel discussion entitled EB-5 Program: Successes, Challenges and Opportunities for States and Localities .

The Panel featured Former Governor of Arkansas Mike Beebe, Former Governor of Vermont Jim Douglas and IIUSA Member George Olson Co-Founder and Managing Principle at New York City Regional Center. The discussion focused on the potential challenges and opportunities for states and localities funding infrastructure and other high priority projects through EB-5, particularly in economically distressed areas. The panel also spoke at length about the current debate surrounding Targeted Employment Areas (TEA’s) as well as investor motivations.
