EB-5 Indicated to be Included on a Continuing Resolution

09.15.16 | Archived

Majority Whip Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) indicated in an article published in The Hill on September 13 that a short-term extension of the EB-5 Regional Center Program would be included in the continuing resolution (CR) which is expected to pass by the end of the month. The CR is expected to last through mid-December, giving the EB-5 industry and Congress a few extra months to deliberate reforms to the Program.

It should be noted, however, that even with the prospective of these three extra months to discuss workable legislation for both legislators and the industry, there will be a lot work ahead of us and this time will go quickly.

There is no official language for the CR yet and therefore no language specific to EB-5 to share at this time. Once we learn more, we will update you accordingly and we will continue to advocate to ensure EB-5 is included.
