IIUSA’s 2023 EB-5 Event Passport Series Kicks Off with Four Event Across Latin America

In Partnership With:

Over the course of the past two weeks, IIUSA was pleased to welcome our members, partners, prospective investors and foreign intermediaries to EB-5 Event Passport Series engagements across Latin America. Beginning in Colombia, February 28, and wrapping up in Brazil on March 9 the events took us to four cities (Bogota, Medellin, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo) providing valuable educational platforms, exploring new markets, opening business development channels and further solidifying association partnerships along the way.

IIUSA Executive Director Aaron Grau noted, “IIUSAs international platforms are leading the way in EB-5 market development and expansion and we look forward to continuing to connect our members with key stakeholders at events across the globe in the year ahead.”

As the industry’s only membership association every activity undertaken is for the benefit of our members and with the support of their valuable contributions. Our events in Latin America were no different and we were thankful to have the support and participation of 15 of the leading EB-5 organizations as sponsors and speakers. We were equally pleased to be able to connect them with hundreds of prospective investors and industry service providers over the course of our two-week trip.

The success of IIUSA’s international engagements is a testament to the established and growing partnerships the association maintains, a international brand recognition and the growing network of members and supporters around the world. IIUSA is uniquely positioned to capitalize on its role as the industry membership association and primary advocate and our message has proven to successfully resonate with other likeminded organizations around the world.

Speaking after the conclusion of our Bogota event  Gizette Lemus – New Business Development Director, American Chamber Bogota noted “As part of the binational trade agenda, we believe it is essential to continue leading and contributing to building long-term alliances between the two countries, for which AmCham Colombia has the capacity and track record to continue implementing these projects for the growth and economic development of the two countries, always hand in hand with our key allies like Invest In The USA.”

The events marked the return on the IIUSA Event Passport Series which in 2022 was lauded for its success in promoting EB-5 in 7 countries at 13 total events. The 2022 series was a great return to in-person international events for the association and with lessons learned and improvements made we are confident that our 2023 engagements will be even more impactful. That confidence was already reflected in our events over the past two weeks with sponsors and attendees both deriving significant benefits from their participation.

The Passport Series was established with the goal of connecting IIUSA members with industry stakeholders in more markets and on a more regular basis than ever before. The association felt that there were significant gaps in EB-5 knowledge in emerging markets, a dearth of events in the same cities and a generalized focus on just a few key markets. While appreciating the importance of the key EB-5 markets we also know that the industry will be much more successful if we work to broaden its exposure. Accordingly, we have been honored to host events in markets that have not ever seen large scale EB-5 events (Nigeria, South Africa and now Argentina) while furthering the rapid market growth in emerging markets such as Colombia and Brazil. We look forward to continuing this work on behalf of our members and the industry at large.

After a brief respite, IIUSA heads back out to for our next events in just a few short weeks when we will be connecting stakeholders in Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Taiwan. We invite all members to join us!
